1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Furtune ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Unattached Limited ("we," "us," or "our"), the developer of Furtune.
2. Description of Service
Furtune is a personal checkbook and budgeting app in which friendly animal characters look after your money records. With the App you can:
- Create accounts (such as bank accounts, credit cards, cash, investments, loans, and money lent to others) and record income, expenses, and transfers;
- Mark entries as cleared and reconcile your accounts;
- Set up recurring bills and income, view them on a calendar, and have them recorded automatically when they fall due;
- Set monthly budgets by category and see weekly, monthly, and yearly reports;
- Set savings goals and follow your progress;
- Earn coins, decorations, and companions in "Critter Cottage" for keeping up good habits;
- Scan a receipt to fill in a new entry (Furtune Pro), read on your device;
- Lock the App with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode;
- Optionally receive reminder notifications before bills are due and alerts when a budget is nearly or fully used.
3. Eligibility
By using the App, you represent and warrant that:
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms, or have your parent or guardian's consent to do so;
- You will use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
4. Your Records; Not Financial Advice
4.1 A Record-Keeping Tool
Furtune is not a bank and is not connected to your bank, card issuer, or any financial institution. It does not move money, make payments, or read your real account balances. Every balance, budget, and report in the App is calculated only from the information you enter. If an entry is missing, duplicated, or wrong, the figures shown will be wrong too. You are responsible for checking your records against your real statements.
4.2 Not Professional Advice
Budgets, savings rates, insights (such as "Fox's findings"), low-balance alerts, and messages from the characters are general information generated from your own records. They are not recommendations for any financial decision. Consult a qualified professional before making important financial decisions.
4.3 Currency
The App shows amounts in the currency you choose. Changing the currency changes only the symbol; no exchange rate is applied and existing amounts keep their numbers.
4.4 Receipt Scanning
Receipt scanning reads text with on-device recognition and guesses the amount, date, and shop. It can misread or miss them, especially on creased, faded, or unusual receipts. Always check the filled-in entry before saving; you are responsible for what you save.
4.5 Recurring Bills and Reminders
Recurring entries are recorded by the App on your device; they do not pay any bill. Reminders and budget alerts are delivered by your device and depend on its notification settings, Focus modes, and whether the App remains installed. We do not guarantee that a reminder will be delivered or delivered on time. Do not rely on Furtune as your only reminder for payments, due dates, or other obligations.
4.6 Your Data Lives on Your Device
Furtune stores your records on your device and does not keep a copy on our servers. If you delete the App, erase its data, or lose or replace your device without a backup, your records may be permanently lost and we cannot recover them. Loading the sample ledger or using "Erase All Data" replaces your current records and cannot be undone. Furtune Pro users can export their transactions as a CSV file at any time.
5. Purchases, Advertising, and Virtual Items
5.1 Free Plan and Furtune Pro
Recording entries, balances, transfers, the calendar, budgets, reminders, the app lock, and Critter Cottage are free. The free plan includes a limited number of accounts, recurring bills, and active savings goals, and shows advertising. "Furtune Pro" is an optional upgrade, offered as an auto-renewing subscription and/or a one-time purchase, that removes advertising and unlocks unlimited accounts, recurring bills, and savings goals, custom categories, receipt scanning, full report history and yearly reports, and CSV export. Prices and what is included are shown in the App before you buy and may vary by region and over time. Records you already have are never deleted when a subscription ends; you keep them, but creating more beyond the free limits and Pro-only features are locked until you subscribe again.
5.2 Auto-Renewal
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your App Store account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current paid period continues until it expires. Payment is charged to your Apple ID and managed by Apple; we do not process or store your payment details. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
5.3 Advertising
On the free plan, the App shows advertising provided by Google AdMob, clearly labelled "Ad." Ads are supplied by third parties; we do not endorse the advertisers or their products, and your dealings with them are solely between you and the advertiser. We may change where and whether ads are shown at any time. How ad data is handled is explained in our Privacy Policy.
5.4 Coins, Decorations, and Companions
The coins, jars, bills, gold bars, gems, decorations, accessories, monthly items, and companions in Critter Cottage are in-app rewards for keeping good habits. They are not money, have no monetary value, are non-transferable, cannot be purchased, and cannot be exchanged for cash or anything of value. They are not connected to your real balances.
5.5 Refunds
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with App Store policies and applicable law.
6. Acceptable Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose, including recording or concealing unlawful transactions;
- Send abusive, unlawful, or automated messages through the rating feedback or "Message the Developer" features;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or those of our service providers;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent permitted by law;
- Circumvent purchase verification, usage limits, or advertising;
- Click on ads fraudulently or generate artificial ad impressions;
- Transmit malware or interfere with the operation of the App.
7. Intellectual Property
The App and all associated software, artwork, character designs (including the eight animal companions), sounds, graphics, logos, and functionality are owned by Unattached Limited or its licensors and protected by applicable law. Some software components are used under open-source licenses, as credited in Section 15 (Third-Party Notices). You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use. The records you enter remain yours.
8. Third-Party Services
Furtune relies on third-party services, including:
- Apple — app distribution, notifications on your device, Face ID / Touch ID, and billing for purchases;
- RevenueCat — subscription and purchase-entitlement management;
- Google AdMob and the Google User Messaging Platform — advertising on the free plan and, where the law requires it, the ad-consent form;
- Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Remote Config) — usage statistics, crash reports, and remote settings such as whether ads are shown;
- Supabase and Slack — store and deliver the feedback and messages you choose to send us.
When you export or share a file, the data is handed to the app or service you choose (for example Files, Mail, Messages, or a cloud drive), which is governed by its own terms and privacy policy. These services may change or become unavailable, and features that depend on them may stop working. See our Privacy Policy for details.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, that balances, budgets, reports, or reminders will be complete or accurate, that your data will never be lost, or that the App will meet your expectations.
10. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim or the minimum amount required by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Unattached Limited and its affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the App or your violation of these Terms or any third-party rights.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end your access to paid features or to the App, with or without notice, including for violation of these Terms. On termination:
- Your right to use the App will cease immediately;
- Provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 4 and 7–11) will survive;
- In-app rewards may be forfeited upon termination for cause, to the extent permitted by law.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms by revising the Effective Date above and providing notice where appropriate. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable law. Disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation and, where required, resolved through arbitration or the competent courts.

Furtune includes software from the following third parties. We thank their authors.
